WHAT’S AN ADU?

Learn about Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)

What's an adu?

Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) are additional living quarters added to existing residential properties that can be used to generate rental income, house guests or aging parents, and can either be attached to or detached from the primary structure. They are also known as in-law suites, granny flats, carriage houses, mother-in-law flats, secondary units, and several other names.

Why ADUs?

Adding an ADU to your property is a great way to generate extra income to make owning a property more affordable (or even profitable), but can also be used to house aging parents, in-home care providers, and young adults who need some independence but aren’t ready to be fully on their own, all while maintaining independence and privacy.
